10 MOST MEMORABLE WUKKOUT! MOMENTS

From Krista Martins

While reflecting over the past 10 years, so many memories came flooding back. We thought it would be fun to share the top 10 moments from Wukkout! within the past decade.

Check out Krista’s top 10 below.

#10.

2022 CARIBBEAN IMPACT AWARDS
“The recognition from a publication I’ve been seeing my entire life with local Caribbean news was truly an honor.  On top of that, my friends, family, and Wukkout! Community came together and we had a great time.”

#9.

FIRST CLASS AT ATHLETA
You all came from far and wide for this class - early on a Saturday morning.  We had incredible sponsors and gift bags and we spent an hour wining on the mannequins.  It was the kick-off of a beautiful 7+ year partnership.”

#8.

2-HOUR CLASS / HOLIDAY PARTY
“These classes in general always have such a vibe but the first one we did was special because it was the first time that I was able to witness the instructors teaching Wukkout!  It was a full circle moment to see what had been created.”

#7

THE FIRST TORONTO CLASS
A good friend shared her studio space with me and to have my entire family and close friends show up for class was truly heartwarming.”

#6

TYRONE’S GOING AWAY  at 333 LOUNGE
“This was such a fun night.  Tyrone was leaving us for Boston, he had just received his Ph.D. and he taught his final happy hour class to celebrate.  We packed out that place and celebrated with him all night.”

#5

5-YEAR ANNIVERSARY PARTY
“Another one of those pinch-me moments.  It was my first time having a “non-class” related event and I honestly wasn’t sure how it would be received.  You all turned out and turned up.  And then the thoughtfulness of presenting me with an award - there are no words.”

#4.

GUYANA UNITY MOVEMENT INC., GALA
(Entrepreneur of the Year 2019)

What an honor to receive this award.  I never thought I would get this type of recognition and it couldn’t have been achieved without any of you.  The gala itself was incredible, we danced and “picked up something, anything” all night long.  What a blast.”

#3.

WUKKOUT! ON THE BEACH
“I was genuinely shocked when I saw how many people came out to the first beach class.  I couldn’t believe it.  It was definitely one of those moments that made me know Wukkout! and our community were here to stay.”

#2.

SOCA ON THE BOARDWALK
The sun setting, the lights from Luna Park, hundreds of people on the boardwalk.  It’s a perfect summer experience.”

#1.

FIRST SATURDAYS AT BROOKLYN MUSEUM
The energy, the vibe of this was unreal.  There were hundreds of people jumping, waving, wining and jukin’ and it was glorious.”
